deadline schmedline
I suppose knitting wouldn't be as fun if I had to do it for a living. Still fun but definitely not as fun. Which is why I have so wisely chosen to ignore my own self-imposed deadline for finishing the Aimee sweater (from Rowan's Vintage Knitting book). I'm busy. I wish I could finish her but I have guilt up to my eyeballs whenever I sit down to knit.
Alas, I did finish one of the sleeves. One more and I can seam up. I think I'll be happy if I can do it before January, which will be the one year mark since I casted Aimee on. Of course, in that time I have also knitted a Clapotis the size of a beach towel, three and a half baby hats, a baby sweater, and a kerchief. So it hasn't been a totally knit-free year. But I have no intention to cast on anything else though until that last sleeve is done. I want a sweater on my back, not a monkey!
The good news is that the subtle color looks great on the pattern, it seems (the pattern book had it in a very saturated magenta), and the Kid Silk Haze is really soft, and I have every reason to believe my first adult sweater will be a smashing success.
Here's a detail of Aimee's sleeve:

She looks beautiful - take your time, enjoy, you'll be done when you're good and ready.
